To deal with the shortage of post graduate teachers (PGT) in Delhi government schools, Delhi Governor VK Saxena has approved the creation of 200 new teacher posts. This information was made public through an official statement from Raj Bhavan on Saturday. The new posts have been announced to strengthen the education sector and strengthen the level of secondary and higher secondary education.

The new sanctioned posts will provide secondary and senior secondary level education under the Delhi Education Directorate. These posts have been placed under Matrix Level 8, the objective of this recruitment is to increase the quality of education in government schools. In a statement issued from the Lieutenant Governor’s office, it was said that the motive of this initiative is to deal with issues like bias, reservation violation and employee harassment.

Before the recruitment of 200 PGT teachers in Delhi, only 283 teachers are registered on 301 posts. The PGT teacher recruitment to be held in Delhi will follow Level 8 and they will be given a salary ranging from Rs 47600 to Rs 151100. The new sanctioned posts will strengthen the workforce by reducing the workload of education.

Challenges in education will reduce
However, with only 283 PGTs employed for special education against 301 sanctioned posts, many students are left out. Currently, 609 government schools in the capital serve CWDs at the senior secondary level, yet the limited number of special education teachers poses challenges for these institutions in meeting their daily instructional needs, the report said Is.
